Maybe we haven’t done enough to convince him, or perhaps he’s having second thoughts on what to do given how much interest there is in him.

Either way, it might not be anything that we’re doing, or not doing that might stump us in our pursuit of Rhian Brewster, it could be the big man at Anfield calling the shots.

According to a report from Football Insider, Jürgen Klopp is now reportedly undecided on whether or not he wants to allow the 20-year-old forward to even leave the club this summer. It states that:

“The manager will have the final say on the future of Brewster, who has long been touted as a first-team star of the future at Anfield.”

Will we sign Brewster this window?

Yes

Yes

No

No

So it sounds as if we may not be getting him after all, and he might not even be going anywhere, which is really an interesting development because all the latest reports seemed to make it inevitable that he was going somewhere, with only the matter of where and how much left to be finalised.

With the report later pointing out how Chris Wilder is keen to get a new forward over the line before the cut-off date of the 5th October, it will be very interesting to see when Klopp will likely make the decision on what to do with him. One injury to someone like Sadio Mane for instance, and all of a sudden Brewster could find himself thrust into the matchday squad on a regular basis.

That’s why I’ve spoken before about just getting the deal done, take the decision making out of the hands of someone like Klopp quicker and we might have been able to get him into the team for the first few games of the season.

What about you? What do you make of the latest update surrounding Brewster?
