I was kind of afraid that this might happen.
That’s why I briefly talked about it over the weekend when discussing our hunt for young Rhian Brewster from Liverpool. In it, I said that I hoped that we could get the deal done as soon as possible, otherwise we could miss out on him and be scrambling around to find a new player.
However, I said that scenario might come down to something wrong on our end, like a failed medical or failing to agree personal terms. According to Alan Nixon though, it might simply be that someone comes in and takes him away from us.
Will we sign Brewster this window?
Yes
No
Speaking on social media yesterday, the journalist gave an update as to what was going on with not only our chase for him, but also a couple of other clubs that are reportedly showing an interest:
LIVERPOOL. Brewster had talks with Klopp and knows his best chance of a game is a move out. SHEFF U still mad keen but struggling with fee. VILLA could afford but would he start? PALACE have money and big long-term interest.

So by the sounds of it, even though Chris Wilder’s comments seemed to indicate some progress in him coming to us, it looks as if there’s still a long way to go before Brewster decides where he’ll be playing his football next year.
What about you? What do you make of this news?
