Addition by subtraction.

That could be the way that Sheffield United operate this summer, or at least that’s how they could operate with one player in particular.

According to a report from Rob Dorsett at Sky Sports, West Bromwich Albion are keen to turn Callum Robinson’s loan deal at the Hawthorns into a permanent one. Not only that, but the Baggies aren’t the only ones that are interested in him, with a number of sides, including a Premier League one also keeping him on their radar.

Robinson didn’t have the greatest of loan spells with them in terms of numbers, with only five goals and assists in his 16 games there, but he obviously must have done something to impress Slaven Bilic, amongst others, during his time there.

Chris Wilder in my mind looks set in his way for how he is going to address the forward position, with his usual rotation of the likes of Oli McBurnie, Billy Sharp, Lys Mousset and David McGoldrick. There’s possibly going to be one more if our pursuit of Ollie Watkins ends up being successful, but I don’t think we’re going to end up with more than that, otherwise too many people are going to be left unhappy fighting for playing time.

What should happen to Robinson this summer?

Indeed, I’d much rather us sell someone like Robinson in order to get that potential fifth forward player, or use the funds to try and buy a goalkeeper instead.

Either way, if these reports are true and there a number of clubs interested in him, let’s turn it into a bidding war and get the highest price for him, because in my mind, we don’t really need him.

What about you? Do you think we should be getting rid of Robinson this summer? Especially if it helps to get fund moves for other players?
