Let’s not rush back into things.

That would be my takeaway from the latest news coming out of Bramall Lane.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Leicester City, Blades boss Chris Wilder gave an update on how the team is shaping up fitness wise, and according to him, there’s only really one person that is causing the team any problems, and that’s John Fleck:

“We’re hopeful John Fleck will be involved Thursday night. Couple of bangs and bruises from the weekend, but I’m believing from the medical department we’re all fit to go.”

And it’s the use of that phrase ‘hopefully’ that is giving me pause for thought, although not necessarily because I’m overly concerned.

Given the circumstances, I think it would be best if the club take the cautious approach when it comes to this game, keep things as they are and play Ben Osborn in his place again.

Blades fans seem to be happy with the performances that he’s putting in, like against Chelsea where he completed 97% of his passes. Indeed, we’re undefeated in games that he has started since the restart, so it’s not as if he’s hurting us by disrupting our style.

Will Osborn start more than 15 games for us next season?

Yes

Yes

No

No

So given that we have two more important games to come after this, both of which will play a huge role in whether or not we qualify for Europe, it might be best to keep him back for one game, rather than risk injuring him and losing him for longer.

What about you? What do you make of this injury news?
