Highly rated Blades youngster Kacper Lopata will not be allowed to leave United on loan this summer without signing a new contract, according to Echo News.

The 20 year-old, in his appearances for the Blades last season and for Southend, demonstrated leadership qualities and a commanding presence in the air. To add to that he has shown that he is good enough to play out from the back and has shown great composure for his age.

Last season was a great experience for Lopata as it was his first time where he had a serious run of games at senior level, but he showed he is a cut above National League level.

Ideally United would like to loan him out to a League 1 or League 2 club this summer. However United will only do that if the Polish u21 centre-back signed a new deal with the Blades, and according to the Echo News report he is unwilling to sign a new deal.

The Pole hasn’t been taken to United’s pre-season training camp in Portugal either, which could indicate that the two parties have had a falling out.
