Sheffield United’s senior and youth internationals took part in their final game of this international break on Tuesday.

George Baldock, John Egan and Sander Berge saw action for their country, whilst Tommy Doyle, James McAtee, Rhian Brewster, Reda Khadra and Daniel Jebbison played for their country’s youth teams.

Baldock played 90 minutes for Greece as they beat Northern Ireland 3-1. The right-wingback was almost credited with an assist when his cross was headed off target from a promising position.

Egan played 90 minutes for Ireland as they beat 9-men Armenia by 3 goals to 2. United’s and Ireland’s skipper got on the scoresheet again as he headed in a Robbie Brady corner.

Berge played 90 minutes for Norway in their 2-0 defeat to Serbia. The Norwegian was heavily criticised as he was at fault for Serbia’s 2nd goal. More so, the Norway fans were not impressed with Berge’s intensity and he was rated very poorly by the Norwegian press. VG outlet rated him a 2/10, whilst tv2 rated him 4/10, Dagbladet gave him a 1/10 and described his performance as “embarrassing”.

Meanwhile, Daniel Jebbison started for England u20’s and he scored in their 3-0 victory over Australia. The striker was brought off on the hour mark.

Reda Khadra started for Germany’s u21’s in their 3-1 defeat to the England u21’s. Khadra had a good chance to score in the game from a 1v1 opportunity, but his touch let him down, and he was later on subbed.

James McAtee, Tommy Doyle and Rhian Brewster all came on for England in this game with McAtee being the more influential out of the trio with his ball-carrying ability.

I would describe the Norwegian manager and its press are the real embarrassment. That is why their players escape the country to find a decent level of football. Sheffield United are a better team than the Norway national side.
