During the international break, United have reportedly been watching Lewis Pirie, who is a 16-year-old striker that plays for Aberdeen.

The Blades are said to have been keeping tabs on the young striker who caught the eye in the Scotland u16’s vs Denmark u16’s game. However United aren’t alone, Premier League clubs Leeds United and Brighton are meant to be keen admirers as well.

Although United’s interest in the promising young Scottish striker has not been made official, it does definitely make sense as it fits the criteria that the Blades have been following in recent years.

If United do attempt to pursue Pirie, they will hope that the striker turns out to be another Will Lankshear, who was picked up by the Blades at a similar age from Arsenal. The forward went on to impress with United’s development team. And so much that Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur signed Will Lankshear this summer for a reported fee of £2M, according to the Daily Mail.

Aberdeen’s youth academy isn’t unknown for producing talented players. Their academy has already produced star names including Calvin Ramsay, who joined Liverpool in the summer. Another player they produced was Lancelot Pollard, who signed for Rangers after catching the eye for Aberdeen.
