I wouldn’t necessarily call them ‘fighting words’, but they should certainly be something to make others stand up and pay attention.

That’s probably the best way of analysing Chris Wilder’s words from the other day as he spoke about getting the season back underway.

The Blades boss was speaking during a media session the other day and he was asked when he believed his players would be ready to restart the season, and he replied with two short sentences, but enough to certainly send a message.

 “Tomorrow”, “they’re warriors”.

Now doesn’t that just give you that little bit of a boost and a huge swell of confidence to look ahead to the end of the season with? This was a point that was made by one of the Vital Blades members JonnyBlade on a recent article, so kudos to them for inspiring me a little bit on the matter.

Are you a fan of Chris Wilder's attitude here?

Yes

Yes

No

It’s almost like the Kevin Durant quote, “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard”, and I think that sort of desire is going to be something that is huge to Sheffield United’s season when and if things do officially restart.

You can see how much desire there is from the players and wanting to get the season finished, like George Baldock talking about being willing to go into self-isolation in order to get games played. Now it’s impossible to tell if Sheffield United players are the only ones to feel that way, in fact I’m certain that they aren’t, but if you have enough players coming up against us that are hesitant like Sergio Aguero, then who knows what that extra boost could give us against opposition towards the latter end of the season.

What about you? What do you make of Wilder’s words and do you think it’s the best attitude to have at a time like this?
