You’ve got to be in it to win it, as the old saying goes.

And by Jove it sounds like we really want to win it based off of Chris Wilder’s comments. Whilst there has been plenty of talk regarding what is happening with the Premier League, the cup competitions have taken a bit of a back seat, but Wilder says that his side will be ready for whatever is thrown their way.

Speaking to The Star, the Blades boss talked about what the plans are for our F.A Cup campaign, and said that his side are more than capable of having to deal with the extra workload that a cup run will entail:

“As you can imagine, from the FA’s point of view, they want to get it done. What people are talking about is a period of seven weekends to get everything done. Obviously that includes a few midweek matches and the teams in Europe and the cup will have to play a few more. But we’re fit and ready. Do we want to carry on with the FA Cup? One hundred percent.”

I’ve spoken before about our exploits in the F.A Cup this season, and how much we should be prioritising the league performances whilst also maintaining a balance for having some level of success in the cup competitions, but by the sounds of it, Sheffield United are going to be going all out when it comes to both competitions.

Are you a fan of Chris Wilder's attitude here?

Yes

Yes

No

I just hope that we do manage to get the balance right, especially when it comes to keeping players fit and healthy over the stretch of games. We don’t want to mess up our league form, then not be in the best shape when we end up having to rely on the F.A Cup to fall back on and losing out in both competitions.

What about you? Do you agree with Wilder and the way he seems to be focusing on both competitions? Or would you rather we focused on one rather than the other?
