After a shocking start to the first half which saw the Blades fall 2-0 down, United battled back to earn a point in the second half as Davies denied Pukki his hattrick from the spot.

On the flip side, United may feel disappointed in just the one point as McBurnie will rue his late-headed chance.

My Player Ratings

Adam Davies: 5

Davies took far too long on the ball and was chased down by Pukki for the first goal. He did make an excellent save to deny Sargent, which would’ve made it 3-0. Davies avenged his mistake in the end when he saved a late penalty.

Anel Ahmedhodzic: 4

He was outmuscled far too easily by Pukki for the second goal. There were times when Ahmedhodzic was caught out and beaten, which isn’t usually like him. One of his worst performances in a Blades shirt in my opinion.

John Egan: 5

Played his part in United’s equaliser when he rose highest to knock the ball down for McBurnie to slide into the net. He gave away the penalty at the end and he has Davies to thank for saving the spot kick.

Chris Basham: 4

Once again I thought Basham was poor. He gave the ball away often and he was out of position often which led to Norwich attacking the space directly behind him. It’s a shame to say this but Basham has gone from being ‘Mr Reliable’ to becoming a liability.

George Baldock: 6

Baldock finally learned how to beat the first man with his crosses. His ball across set up a chance for Ndiaye. And, his ball across to Sharp helped set up United’s first goal. His energy and enthusiasm were a big contributing factor to United’s second-half performance.

Ben Osborn: 6

Osborn was shocking in the first half. He could barely beat the first man with his crossing. However, he improved a lot in the second half. He scored United’s first goal. He could’ve had an assist when he delivered on the money for McBurnie. But the first half bumps his rating down.

Oliver Norwood: 7

Norwood battled for everything he possibly could. He tried to get United back in the game, and his passing ability changed the tempo of United’s attacks from slow and dull to quick and penetrative. He played a great pass for United’s equaliser.

John Fleck: 6

Fleck started a game for the first time since Blackburn at home. He worked hard and got stuck in against Norwich. Didn’t have the same impact on the side that he was having pre his injury. I’m expecting him to get back to his early-season form.

James McAtee: 4

I can’t think of anything that he did particularly well in the first half, but none of the United team was particularly good in the first half. He was replaced at half-time.

Billy Sharp: 4

Tried to offer United an out ball but the majority of the time he couldn’t hold the ball up well enough, which has been a theme in his appearances this season. Played a part in the first goal, albeit was lucky that his shot fell to an unmarked Osborn.

Rhian Brewster: 6

Brewster’s work-rate was great against Norwich. Pressed and harried their back line. Chased down every loose ball. Offered United an out ball down the sides with his pace. Had a chance in the first half but couldn’t direct his header.

Subs:

Ndiaye 7 (McAtee, HT)

Doyle 6 (Fleck, 58)

McBurnie 7 (Brewster, 64)

Khadra 5 (Sharp, 80)
