After suffering relegation last season, non-league outfit, Grantham Town is aiming high in a promotion charge, including three former Football League players. One is former Sheffield United, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Bolton Wanderers defender Jake Wright.

The Lincolnshire club was relegated from the Northern Premier League last season and aims for an instant return following the signings of Jake Wright, forward Nathan Tyson (formerly with Nottingham Forest and Doncaster Rovers), and defender Matt Tootle (ex-Nottβs County), to aid their promotion challenge.

The defender, now aged 36, was signed by Chris Wilder from Oxford United in July 2016 as a backup. But following injuries he soon established himself a place in the starting XI, and became a pivotal player in Unitedβs League One title campaign, playing in 29 league games. The following campaign he played fewer games but was inspirational in the βBouncing Day MassacreβΒ victory which saw the Blades beat city rivals Sheffield Wednesday 4-2 at Hillsborough, with Wright assisting the second goal!

Naturally, we wish him well in his new endeavors
