Sheffield United are expecting Anel Ahmedhodzic to sign for them, according to Alan Nixon.
The latest reports believe that United have agreed personal terms with the Bosnian defender. Ahmedhodzic is expected to perform a medical before joining up with the Blades in Portugal.
United have managed to fight off the interest from Blackburn Rovers, as they attempted to hijack the deal very late on in the negotiation stages. Rovers boss, and former Danish forward, Jon Dahl Tomasson was pushing to bring his former player with him to the Lancashire side.
The Blades are on the verge of signing the 23 year-old centre-back for £3M, the deal is thought to be one of the signings of the summer in the Championship. A player who has Champions League experience, having played a number of games for Malmo in the competition last season.
Providing Anel Ahmedhodzic successfully completes his medical, United will be adding a solid and mobile centre-back to the depth that already consists of Chris Basham, John Egan and Jack Robinson.

The defender has been out since 2020, recovering from knee surgery after suffering a terrible knee ligament damage.
