He hasn’t long left Sheffield United, however, former Celtic striker, Oliver Burke, impressed his new employers by netted a brace on his Werder Bremen debut.

The former West Bromwich Albion and RB Leipzig forward made a return to the Bundesliga after he signed for Werder Bremen four days ago in an undisclosed fee. The striker netted twice after Bremen beat Karlshuer SC 2-1 in their first pre-season friendly of the season.

The 25-year-old joined United in a swap deal involving Callum Robinson moving to the Baggies in September 2020. He netted one league goal in 28 league games he featured for the Blades. This came in a dramatic 2-1 victory at Manchester United during the 2020/21 relegation campaign from the Premier League.

Unfortunately, Burke didn’t have the best of times at Sheffield united ,and his lack of goal, he found it difficult to win over the Blades faithful. However, I believed that he could have had a decent future at Bramall Lane. As a striker he lacked the ability and tenacity as a proven goalscorer, however, his pace would have made him a great winger.
