Former Blade Gets Hard Time on Twitter

|

For the past two seasons, goalkeeper Dean Henderson has been on loan to Sheffield United from Manchester United, making 82 appearances for Blades as well as helping United to promotion from the Championship and earning an England call-up. He has won the hearts of Blades supporters, who would welcome him back at Bramall Lane, but it appears that the supporters of Manchester United don’t quite share the same opinion.

Accord to the Manchester Evening Post, fellow Red Devils keeper Lee Grant has stated that Henderson’s return to Old Trafford has added an extra dimension to the goalkeeper’s union. Whilst he has been welcomed by his colleagues in the Manchester United training camp, these opinions aren’t quite shared.

Henderson naturally would like to make the number one position his own, and that decision is down to manager Ole Gunnar Soskjaer, but the Manchester United supports don’t seem ready to part with current number one shot-stopper David De Gea, who has played over 300 times since he signed in 2011.

The comments left by supporters of Manchester United suggest that they are happy with the Spaniard remaining at number one with Henderson either as a substitute or shipped out on loan for a five successive season having spent time previously spent time on loan at Stockport County, Grimsby Town, and Shrewsbury Town.

United have already fulfilled the number one position with the signing of Aaron Ramsdale from AFC Bournemouth, therefore, would be unlikely to re-sign Henderson, who was a fan favourite at Bramall Lane.
