Where’s Stephen?

No matter what happens come the end of the season, if there is one major positive to come out of this campaign it is the emergence of youngster Stephen Quinn.

Quinn broke into the side back in December and hasn’t looked back since. The youngster has even chipped in with two goals for the Blades first team.

With such an impressive last few months for the Blades I am at a loss to understand why the winger has been dropped, not just from the team, but the whole squad in the last two games?

Stephen was replaced by his older brother Alan for the Chelsea trip, but after the shocking performance of the elder Quinn that day I thought Stephen was certain to be reinstated for Bolton, but no.

To be dropped from the starting 11 is one thing but to be dropped from the whole squad seems strange?

Whether Warnock has fallen out with the tenacious youngster is unknown, but in my opinion Warnock has made a massive mistake in dropping him for the last two games.

Surely the kind of mentality that is needed for this final run in is guts, energy and above all quality, and Quinn appears to have them all in abundance.

I just hope Warnock atones for his error by including him in the squad that faces Newcastle at Bramall Lane this weekend.
