Throwing a late spanner in the works.

That appears to be a real possibility when it comes to the talk over Rhian Brewster and his potential move to Bramall Lane. Recent reports surrounding the move have seemed to suggest that it is a two-way battle now between us and Crystal Palace over the services of the young Liverpool man, with Liverpool seemingly in favour of our proposal that would include a buyback clause.

It’s something I’ve said before I’d be OK with as it does offer us some perks in the grand scheme of things.

However, just because the club prefer it, doesn’t mean that the player will go along with it. That’s the analysis that journalist Alan Nixon, who has been brilliant covering this move from the beginning, appeared to claim when responding to a fan on social media about the situation:

Will we sign Brewster this window?

Yes

Yes

No

No

It certainly would be a shame to lose this over a matter of personal preference from Brewster. There have been reports that we are set to start discussing personal terms with Brewster, and hopefully we’ll be able to offer him something more than what Palace can.

What about you? Do you think we’re going to be able to get the deal over the line?
