Sheffield United boss Danny Wilson was delighted to see his side keep another clean sheet as they kept up with the pace at the top of League One.

The Blades made it five clean sheets in a row in the 2-0 win at Oldham Athletic and Wilson says it is down to the whole side and not just the defence.

Speaking after the game, Wilson said, ‘To go five games without conceding is excellent and it’s down to the whole team’s efforts, not just the defenders.

‘Our defenders were enormous and didn’t budge an inch, which was important because the more you back off the more difficulties you will have.

‘We kept Oldham out of our box for a lot of the game and we worked very hard from front to back.

‘We have the quality to score goals at the other end, but our defensive record is making a big difference. There will be twists at some point, but we’ll set out our stall to win every game from now to the end of the season.’

The side have now gone 452 minutes since conceding their last goal, a late consolation at Shrewsbury and it is their best run in the league since December 2002. A clean sheet against MK Dons at Bramall Lane next Saturday will be the first time that United have kept six clean sheets in a row in the league since April 1971, when they went seven games without conceding, as they won promotion from the Second Division.
