Sheffield United remain in the automatic promotion places with a workmanlike performance in the 2-0 win at Oldham Athletic.

The blades have now picked up sixteen points from a possible eighteen and the side kept their fifth clean sheet in a row.

Young goalkeeper George Long continues to impress in the United goal despite rarely being troubled in this game.

Matt Hill returned to the United defence and youngster Harry Maguire along with the more experienced Neil Collins and Tony McMahon made sure that their goal would not be breached.

The midfield were again industrious and Michael Doyle continued his good form with his third goal of the season to give United the lead.

Young winger Dominic Poleon looks like he could be a real handful for the opposition defences in the run in and it was his pace that got him in behind the Oldham defence that led to the first goal when his shot could only be pushed into the path of the onrushing Doyle.

Striker Dave Kitson showed his endeavour as he beat the Oldham goalkeeper and a defender in the air to net the crucial second goal and his tenth of the season.

So who was your man of the match?
