Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough felt his side deserved something from the defeat at Notts County.

The blades let an early lead slip as they went down to a 2-1 defeat and Clough felt they didn`t get the rub of the green with some of the refereeing decisions.

Speaking on BBC Radio Sheffield, Clough said, “I don`t think it was a fair scoreline. You look at what we created and we didn`t make the most of them. They have put two decent crosses in and they have scored two goals.

“We didn`t get the run of the ball and we certainly didn`t get the run of the decisions.”

‘Some things were very, very puzzling today. Our supporters who are travelling away from home must be wondering why some of the decisions are being made that are.

‘We should have been 2-0 up in the first ten minutes of the game. It was a brilliant goal we scored after less than two minutes, but then you go and build on it, and while they’re rocking you go and get that second goal. We didn’t manage to do that.’

Conor Coady gave United the lead inside two minutes when he linked up well with Chris Porter to fire home from the edge of the area.

Enoch Showunmi equalised for the home side when the ball was crashed against him after Jamal Campbell-Ryce fizzed a cross into the penalty area.

County won the game halfway through the second half when Mark Fotheringham scored at the second attempt after blades goalkeeper George Long could not hold onto his first effort.
