Sheffield United’s game with Scunthorpe, due to be played at Bramall Lane tomorrow, is ‘in doubt’ due to heavy snowfall.

The pitch itself, currently under four inches of snow due to ‘adverse conditions in the Yorkshire area, could well be cleared and be fit for play but the main problems could potentially a ‘health and safety’ issues.

Sheffield United managing director Mal Brannigan is quoted on BBC Sport as saying: ‘The conditions have caught everyone by surprise and our main priority has to be safety.’

With ‘snow and ice in surrounding streets and elsewhere in the stadium’ the access to the ground could prove problematic and these safety concerns could result in the game being postponed?

As yet no decision has been made….
