Match Reports

Same old, same old

I remember going to Molineux for a midweek match in 2005. The game was fairly dire and ended 0-0, probably the most memorable thing was Alan Wright playing at centre back for the Blades.

This one sounded quite similar (via the Radio Sheffield commentary) and the scoreline was, obviously, identical. Why then did the 05/06 game feel quite satisfying, whilst this one just felt depressing? The answer is what has gone before. This doesn’t feel like a promotion season, far from it, we haven’t seen any long winning runs or even any small signs to think good times might be round the corner. A 0-0 draw at, an albeit struggling, Wolves is on the face of it a decent point but this season it just adds to the apathy and it isn’t like the result is building on a solid base.

We don’t move any closer to the play-offs, we don’t move any closer to being rid of Robson and with new players seemingly still weeks away from arriving (why??), it does nothing other than maintain the status quo.

Were you at the game? Was it as bad as it sounded? Who played well and who gave a more typical SUFC under Robson performance? Have your say below
