The sort of game we win?

Amongst all the dross this season we’ve actually tended to win our toughest games. We won 3-0 at Charlton, beat Wolves and West Brom at home and won on fairly difficult trips to Stoke, Leicester and Coventry (perhaps the Midlands are to our liking?) – does it therefore follow that we’ll enjoy success at Wolves. Probably not although a team with Hulse and Stead in it will always have a chance at this level.

Vital Quotes:

Robson and McCabe have told the official site why they think it will all turn out OK.

From Robson ‘Of course it is not nice to hear them chanting against me, but I’ve had criticism in my time as a player and as a manager and it goes with the territory. But I’ve always been a fighter and I believe I have the full support of the board and that I will turn things around for Sheffield United. I’ve had it before, especially at West Brom when we lost about the first ten games and were eight points adrift at Christmas. But I brought in a couple of signings, stayed level-headed, started to get a few breaks and went on from there to stay up in the Premiership.’

And from McCabe ‘The club and the soccer (Soccer? Shame on you Kev – Coops) management team recognise that, after recent results, changes in the playing staff are required. The addition of Gary Speed, who brings a wealth of experience, is a start and we will continue to address these issues. I have spoken to Bryan Robson and he knows what is required. But we need the fans to be with us on this journey which, with a run of good results, could still see us challenging for a return to the Premier League from where we were so unfairly relegated from last season,’

Wolverhampton Wanderers Team News:

Eastwood and Jarvis are pressing for recalls. Old man Breen and Jody Craddock could return to the squad.

Player to watch: Andy Keogh

In the match at Bramall Lane, it looked like we’d signed the wrong Scunthorpe striker.

Sheffield United Team News:

Gary Speed will make his debut and hopefully has his magic wand at the ready.

Player to watch: Gary Speed

No pressure Gary, you just need to rescue the worst season in a long time.

Match Prediction:

More woe for Robson as the Blades crash to a 2-1 defeat and the rumours that we’re talking to Billy Davies to increase.
