With the league two promotion pushers having not played the blades for a number of seasons and going through a lot of changes over the Summer. Gaz long time follower and regular article publisher on the vital football website has provided us with all the ins and outs, men to watch and strengths and weaknesses of tomorrow’s opponents….

Our season started really well winning four of our League games in August and ending the month in top slot, scoring twelve goals and letting just four in. Andy Scott was awarded the Manager of the Month for League Two and, after that it seems to have gone downhill a little. We were live on TV against Swindon and lost three-two but bounced back with a win at Don Valley over Dagenham and Redbridge. Since then we’ve drawn two and lost two and have dropped to eighth in the league.

Andy Scott brought in a lot of new players in the summer as well as a making a number of changes to his back room staff. We lost our two top scorers from last season, Ryan Taylor to Bristol City and Adam Le Fondre at the end of August but Lewis Grabban can score goals. We’ve probably got the best three ‘keepers in League Two in Jamie Annerson (though he has a nasty knee injury at the moment), Andy Warrington and Conrad Logan, who has taken over the number one spot since coming on loan from Leicester City. Saying that, Warrington could get his second start against the Blades.

One of the best players Scott has brought in is Gareth Evans who, although a forward, is currently playing on the wing. We’ve also got Marcus Marshall who, if he plays, is very quick. Another one who joined pre-season is Danny Schofield who has a mean free-kick on him, although, for some reason, they keep letting Tom Newey take them.

Defensively we’ve started to leak goals and Ryan Cresswell is out with an ankle injury, though Johnny Mullins has just come back from injury and can only get stronger and fitter. Midfield – well, I’m sure there is one in there somewhere!

Alex Revell arrived on the last day of the transfer season and has been given the captains armband with Cress out. He scored two goals on his debut against Swindon.

Scott seems to have been ‘experimenting’ with the team at the moment and left Marshall out on Saturday, but he’s actually had him playing at the back for some games. Troy Brown is away on international duty with Wales and so Dale Tonge will probably play at the back and it could be that Luke Foster gets his first start.

If Lewis Grabban is allowed space he will score goals.
