The red and white wizards travel down to the Den on Saturday to take on Millwall in the third round of the FA Cup.

Sheffield United have done well in this competition in recent years: getting to the quarter-final stage in the 2019/20 edition and 2020/21, losing to two London clubs on both occasions (Arsenal and Chelsea) and via the same scoreline of 2-1.

However in last seasons competition didn’t follow the same trend as United were thrashed 3-0 at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Paul Heckingbottom has delivered the latest injury news ahead of Saturday’s tie against Millwall:

“Ciaran’s had a scan today but I’ve not seen the results. Flecky’s just working hard and hopefully we can get him running on the AlterG pretty soon.” [SUTV]

The manager was also asked about McBurnie and Lowe’s availability:

“No. Oli I’d say no. Day by day with Lowey because they can soon clear up but I’d say no.” [SUTV]

There has been thoughts as to whether or not United will choose to rest players for this fixture, but Heckingbottom stated on SUTV “we’re going as strong as we can”.

United will be aiming to go seven unbeaten with a victory over Millwall on Saturday. Meanwhile the hosts will be looking to make it five games unbeaten, having kept three clean sheets in a row.

Millwall have conceded just twice at home since the start of October, so United may become frustrated on Saturday as they face a resilient side who are playing with confidence of late.
