Sheffield United have sealed the £1M signing of defender Gary Naysmith from Everton, a day after Jagielka moved the other way.
Naysmith, 28, has endured a number of injury problems at Goodison Park but seems to have finally shaken them off in the last 6 months.
The Scottish international can play at either left back or left midfield and signs a three year contract with the Blades.
As one player enters though, another looks set to leave, as Claude Davis has agreed a £3m move to newly promoted Derby, subject to a medical and work permit agreement.
Davis has only spent a single season at Bramall Lane, after signing last summer from Preston.
The worry is, with the departure of both Jagielka and Davis, United have now been left short of centre backs, and more signings are surely expected at the club?
