“More experienced choice”: Journalist points out what route Blades should go down to find a forward

|

Age before beauty.

That’s what Sheffield United need right now when it comes to who will be brought into the club this summer. I detailed yesterday about how I personally would like us to invest in younger talents to look towards the future, such as in the case between Rhian Brewster and Ante Budimir who we have recently been linked with.

However, journalist Alan Nixon believes that we need to be going the other way with it. Responding to a fan on Twitter regarding the latest transfer dealings, Nixon pointed out that we should be looking at some more experienced heads to join the team, perhaps in the mould of a David McGoldrick rather than an Oli McBurnie:

What do Sheffield United need upfront?

Youth

Youth

Experience

Experience

As I said, I’d rather us go young as it allows us to be more flexible, but if we’re a club that is focusing more on Premier League survival (something that has been hinted by Wilder) this season, then perhaps going after someone who will do the job just for one year would be the right way to go about it.

Then maybe we can address the future next summer.

What about you? Would you rather we go for youth or experience when it comes to our choices of forward?
