Sheffield United will now be playing Milton Keynes Dons at ‘a later date’ with it confirmed today that their proposed visit to Bramall Lane is off.
The game, scheduled to be played a week Saturday (so Saturday 6th September), has been put on hold due to a number of MK Dons players being called-up for international duty during the upcoming international window.
When you play at premier league or championship level you of course have the ‘international break’, which isn’t afforded to us mere mortals at league 1 level or below unless certain criteria is met, which MK Dons have proven to the football league they do.
I say they should all just get on with it, back in the day you didn’t have international breaks did you!
A new date for this meeting will be announced shortly.
