Well what can I say about the season so far? We finished last season on a mighty high. Finishing 7th just missing out on the play offs after being bottom after 15 games.
Nigel Clough did a magnificent job. Even taking us to an FA cup semi final. Where we gave premiership side Hull City a real scare. They came off the pitch winners. But The Blades came off Heroes.
Now this season. Well boom and football as so often gives you a wake up call. 8 new players most young lads. And we start with 2 defeats. Against two clubs that imo will be up there. But defeats are defeats.
A not so convincing win sandwiched in between in the league cup 1st round against Mansfield didn’t really lift the spirits. But our latest game away to another club thought to be up there come the end of the season. A 2-1 win brings the smiles back. Small steps yes. But you can see the players are starting to gel. And the round pegs are starting to go in round holes and not square one’s.
Our next game this Saturday, Crawley at the Lane. An easier proposition we say.. Well in the back of our minds we know football ain’t like that.
I sill believe my £200 to be Champions @ 5/1 is a good investment..
