Sheffield United have completed their second swoop of the day, bringing in Aston Villa defender Shane Lowry.
Lowry, a young defender who has enjoyed continental and international football at such a tender age, has joined the Blades until the end of the season.
The Australian, who was on the verge of a call-up to the World Cup squad for the Socceroos, and also has a goal past Gianluigi Buffon to his name played a part in Leeds United’s promotion to the Coca-Cola Championship last season, as well as Plymouth Argyle’s campaign in it.
Lowry joins youngster Joe Mattock who also joined the club today, and both are expected to go into the squad to face Coventry City at the weekend, with defensive numbers so low on the ground.
