A deal to bring in Brighton u23’s forward Reda Khadra is “not far” from being agreed upon according to Blades boss Paul Heckingbottom.

Khadra visited Sheffield last Friday to look around the City and he was said to be impressed by the place.

If the 21 year-old German does finally get announced as a Blade in the next week, this would mark United’s fifth signing of the summer, if you include Adam Davies as a summer signing.

Heckingbottom has added depth into key areas throughout this summer transfer window, and with Khadra it’d be yet another versatile, talented player added to the squad.

Heckingbottom told reporters:

“No progress. Sometimes it’s difficult and things come up that make it difficult, that’s the situation we are in.We have got to get an agreement between us and Brighton. I would say we are not far apart but sometimes that final bit of detail if you get that far is the one stumbling block.

“In my eyes not [far apart] but maybe in the eyes of the decision makers at both clubs maybe we are. I’m confident.” [Via Yorkshire Live]
