Paddy Kenny’s hearing, scheduled for tomorrow (August 18th) has been postponed at the request of his agent.

Kenny, who tested positive for banned substance ephedrine which he claimed was in a cough medicine was due to be made aware of his fate tomorrow, but at the request of his own agent, it has been delayed.

The agent of the Sheffield United goalkeeper, who hasn’t been awarded a squad number this season, believed more time was required to prepare for the hearing.

A spokesman for the FA commented on the decision: ‘We have agreed to the delay and no new date for the hearing has been set at the moment.

‘The reason the hearing has been postponed is that Paddy Kenny’s representative asked for more time to prepare for the case.’

The four previous cases of people being found guilty of taking ephedrine were all Rugby players, and the whole quartet received a two year ban, even the single case where it had been taken ‘accidentally’ in a cough mixture.
