Sheffield United midfielder Keith Gillespie has spoken on the threat posed by Watford in this weekend’s clash at Bramall Lane.
Boothroyd’s team were relegated following their 1-1 draw with Manchester City at the weekend, but Gillespie believes that may work in their favour.
The winger told the official site ‘It’s a difficult one because Watford have nothing to lose and now they can play worry-free football.
‘If you look at Aidy Boothroyd, he’s somebody who wants to win every game, no matter what, and expects his players to give 100%.
‘There isn’t any pressure on Watford- the pressure is on us because most people are expecting us to win… We have to be ready for the challenge.’
The Blades have added reason to be wary of Saturday’s game if last season’s fixture is anything to go by.
United were on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline the last time Watford visited Bramall Lane.
An early sending off for David Unsworth left the Blades with 10 men for over 60 minutes as Watford ran out impressive winners.
The Blades will be hoping for an improved performance this weekend.
