Sheffield United is likely to make changes ahead of his side’s journey to North Wales today when they face National League leaders Wrexham for the 4.30 PM kick-off, live on BBC.
Blades boss Paul Heckingbottom is aware of the challenge that faces his United side against the lowest-ranking side remaining in the competition. Sheffield United reached round four after disposing Championship rivals Millwall 2-0 at The Den via goals from Daniel Jebbison and Jayden Bogle.
Welsh international keeper, Adam Davies, is expected to start ahead of regular keeper Wes Foderingham, whilst midfielder Ismaila Coulibaly could also be handed a senior start. Striker Oli McBurnie may also return after playing 45 minutes in the Blades 2-0 victory for the Under-21s against Coventry in midweek.
The two sides have met in the FA Cup once before. This was in the First Round on 19th November 1983 at the Racecourse Ground. That day, United were 5-1 comfortable winners with Keith Edwards netting four goals for the Blades. Phil Coleman had levelled for the hosts before Kevin Arnott restored the lead., with Ian Porterfield’s side leading 2-1 at half-time. With eight minutes remaining, Wrexham were reduced to ten men following the dismissal of striker Seamus Heath before the Blades wrapped things up!
Sheffield United advanced into the Fourth Round of the FA Cup via 2-0 victory over fellow Championship side Millwall at the Den via first-half goals from Daniel Jebbison and Jayden Bogle.
