Lots of Blades fans have been discussing the future of current number one Dean Henderson.
And now is as good a time as any, because after David De Gea’s blunder at the weekend, Manchester United might be needing him at some point next season. Although according to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, I wouldn’t expect him to be given the starting role at Old Trafford just yet.
Speaking in the aftermath of his side’s 2-2 draw with Everton on the weekend, the Manchester United boss said that if he does have a future at Old Trafford, it won’t be as a regular starter:
“David’s the best goalkeeper in the world, Dean is a very good challenger and then Sergio [Romero, the current No.2] is a decent challenger as well.
Will the Blades be able to keep hold of Henderson in the summer?
Yes
No
And that news hasn’t gone down too well amongst the Blades fans on social media, with Blades fans taking one of two approaches to the comments. They either took a shot at Solskjaer over his comments defending De Gea, or as a way of defending Henderson, saying that it would be stupid of him to leave Bramall Lane simply to sit on the bench in Manchester.
Deano wouldn’t be happy with being a challenger when he is used to playing every game!

Yes but you can only play 1 keeper at a time Ole so decisions need to be made lad.

Deano won't be going anywhere to sit on bench. He knows he's better than that.

Feels like a comment that had to be made

Mind games for a competing team for Europe. No more.

Could cause a few problems in the goalkeeping room with so many wanting to be number one. Maybe it’d just be better if Solskjaer left him with us for the next, ten or so years.
