There is constant speculation of interest regarding Sander Berge, however Fabrizio Romano has clarified that the latest rumour linking Liverpool with the Norwegian are false.

Romano has explained that the 24-year-old was on the Merseyside club’s radar two years ago, but he is no longer of interest. The transfer expert Fabrizio Romano believes that Berge will have to be more consistent to secure a move to a top Premier League club.

Romano told Caught Offside:

“He was on Liverpool’s list two years ago, now it’s gone quiet and priorities are different. I think he’s a very good player but needs to be more consistent to get a top move.”

Sander Berge came on in the second half against Huddersfield Town after recovering from his injury over the four-week international break because of the World Cup.

The midfielder has scored three times for the Blades this season, and he’s added three assists to his name.

Sheffield United are hopeful of Berge kicking on over this winter period and showing his best qualities, with United playing catch up with league leaders Burnley. United will remain 3pts behind the Clarets after both sides won their matches at the weekend.

The Norwegian midfielder is averaging 1.4 key passes per game, along with 1.5 shots per game, and they’ll need him to maintain this level of attacking output if they wish to reach the summit of the Championship table.
