Centre=half’s season cut short…

United`s new ‘player-coach` Chris Morgan had a season to forget in 2011, at a time when his passion and heart were needed more than ever.

For the second season running, injuries have hampered the Blades defence, and none has hit the side so hard as the one that ruled Morgan out early in the season. After a start to the season which saw the Blades languishing in mid table, Morgan`s absence from the side saw defensive frailties, a lack or organisation and little leadership on the field.

A return date hasn`t been spoken about yet, but an injury which would normally guarantee nine months could be worse for the ageing Morgan who may yet miss the start of the new campaign under Danny Wilson, and have to rely on inspiring the side from the touchline.

Season Highlight: Unfortunately for ‘Morgs` there wasn`t one.

eason Lowlight: The injury which ruled him out for the season.

nd of season grade: Notably absent.

  • thank god mcC got one decision right, morgs absence was one of the main reasons that we went down. him staying is the only encouraging thing about the club right now, and the youth teams performance of course though not many of them will be left by the start of next season by the sound of it.

  • Great to see Morgs is staying, there had been rumors that he was off to Huddersfield. His influence and continuity around the club will be important at a time of change in management and playing staff.

  • Did I see somewhere Morgan saying it would be 4 0r 5 months before he’s playing?? If so it could be November before he’s playing and will he be anything like his old self?

  • For a younger player it’s about 9 months, for Morgan, I think we’ll do well to see him before October.

  • …….how did you know? Walmart have it on offer at $11.49 for 12 bottles, rude not to buy it at that price!

  • I will be when we have polished that off on Sunday. Sonof can help you out with those offers i’m sure! Just been for a liquid lunch in the 26 degree Matlock rays, you don’t know what your missing. Gulf coast my ****!

  • i see quinny is talking himself up well in the press, high profile statements about happy to stay (think thats ment to keep us happy) but if an offer comes he’s off blah blah. spare us the garbage please
