Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell is supposedly in the hunt for Oldham Athletic winger Chris Taylor.

Taylor, who’s caught the eye over the past eighteen months has put in some impressive performances of late for Dave Penny’s men and it’s thought that Blackwell wants to make him a United player come January.

£250,000 is a reported fee for the winger, who has played over 150 times for the Latics, scoring 19 goals, including 10 last season.

It’s a signing that would perhaps cause a conflict of opinion amongst fans, but if Blackwell’s previous signing from further down the football league ladder (Jamie Ward) is anything to go by then it could be a very shrewd move.

Leeds United were also rumoured to be interested in the winger over the summer, but Oldham supposedly rejected a £500,000 bid, although are now considering cashing in on their prize asset.
