Two Sheffield United players were on target, whilst on international duty this week.

Ched Evans scored a double, as he played a full ninety minutes for Wales Under21s in their 4-1 victory over Hungary. It’s encouraging for Blades fans, as the Welshman’s match fitness has been a worry since his big money move from Manchester City.

Meanwhile, David Carney, Sheffield United’s ‘forgotten man’ scored a stunning effort from distance in Australia’s victory over Ireland. Carney continues to impress for the Socceroos, but despite two outings in Pre-Season and has reportedly had a trial with Belgian giants Anderlecht, but still appears out of Kevin Blackwell’s plans.

After a successful Under19’s Championship in the summer, Kyle Walker was picked for the England Under20 team, but was an unused substitute in their game, while winger David Cotterill made a substitute appearance late on for Wales’ full team.
