It’s alright for some isn’t it?

Whilst we’re here having to deal with Storm Dennis, they’ve been sunning it up in Dubai for the past couple of days. Still if it manages to bring us results, then I won’t be complaining too much.

And if John Lundstram’s words are anything to go by, then that should certainly be the case. Speaking to The Star, pointed out that it wasn’t simply a case of resting the legs after a busy winter fixture list, but also getting the mind ready for what’s going to be a challenging end to the season for The Blades:

“Going over to Dubai can be really important for us. Not just for the rest physically, but mentally as well. I don’t think any of us really have played at this intensity every single week. There are a lot more games in the Championship but they’re nowhere near as intense and quick as they are in the Premier League. It’s tough at times, but it’s a challenge you’ve got to rise to.”

Let’s just hope that indeed is the case, because with all this talk about potentially grabbing a Champions League place, it would be a real shame for us to go on a losing streak and end the season in mid-table.

And although that would certainly be a marked improvement on where some people had us finishing this year, to get this close to it and be in contention in February and then fall away would be a bit of an anti-climax given how the season has gone.

He also mentions in that interview about how some of the new players are integrating into the team, but as I warned about yesterday I wouldn’t be so quick to welcome them into the team with open arms just yet.

Will the Blades finish 5th this season?

Yes

Yes

No

No

One too many changes to how things have been going this season, and we could end up sliding back down the table.
