A successful end to the last season has resulted in Sheffield United earning themselves a seeded ranking for the Capital One Cup.
A top half finish in league 1 wasn’t a successful season for the Blades, but based on what it was looking to be was a far better alternative with the momentum something that will be expected to be carried into the 2014/2015 season.
The first fixture that is found out will be the league cup first round, with the Blades among the 18 sides in the northern section of the draw to be seeded and that means that neither Sheffield Wednesday or Rotherham United will be face.
Instead the Blades will face one of the following, bottom half finishers in league 1 last season or a team that was in league 2 or still is in league 2 this season….

Chesterfield
Crewe Alexandra
Fleetwood Town
Hartlepool United
Mansfield Town
Morecambe
Notts County
Oldham Athletic
Rochdale
