It dominated the news yesterday, but the move has finally been done. Bent is on the move. However, before you start wondering where the Blades found £18million from, look a little closer, because rather than leaving a team in red and white to go and play in Birmingham, this Bent has left Birmingham to play in red and white.
Former striker Marcus Bent has made his bi-annual transfer, by rejoining the Blades on loan until the end of the season. Bent hit 24 goals for United in just 56 games during his last spell at Bramall Lane, between 1999 and 2000. Since then, Bent has played a key role for Everton, before becoming what`s best described as a journeyman, often finding pastures new on deadline day.
Regardless of the tag that may follow him now, Bent could possess the spark, and the firepower United need to lift their spirits as they look to escape the relegation zone in the Coca-Cola Championship.
