Colin Marrison: A big powerful centre forward who could also play on either wing, Marrison played in two league cup games against Shrewsbury & Reading. He was released at the end of last season before moving to Hinckley. He scored 13 goals there before recently joining Tamworth.

Dominic Roma: Roma never quite made it into the first team, although was in the squad on a couple of occasions. He had loan spells at Boston and Tamworth before being released at the end of last season along with numerous others. He has played 21 times for Hinckley this season, scoring 1 goal.

Kyle McFadzean: Kyle made a sub appearance at Shrewsbury in his only first team appearance. The big Scottish centre-half was also released at the end of last season, it’s reported McFadzean has recently signed for Alfreton Town.

Kevan Hurst: Hurst was a winger who could play on the left or the right. He made one league appearance featured more often in the cup. He spent a long time out on loan at hometown team Chesterfield, Scunthorpe and Stockport. He was sold to Scunthorpe United at the end of last season, where he has featured for the most part of this season. His deliveries and set pieces make up the majority of his repertoire.

Jonathan Forte: Forte made a total of 30 appearances for the Blades, but only 5 of them coming from the start. There was a time when it seemed inevitable that Forte would be coming off the bench wit 20 minutes left to have a run down the left. He had successful loan spells with Rotherham and Doncaster before joining Scunthorpe at the end of the season as part of the transfer briniging Billy Sharp back to Bramall Lane.

Evan Horwood: Horwood is a young left back who can also play in the centre of defence. He has had numerous loan spells like many other Blades youngsters at teams like Stockport, Darlington, and Scunthorpe. At the start of the season Horwood joined Gretna on loan where he scored his first professional goal. In January Horwoood left Utd for Carlisle on a permanent basis.

Ian Ross: Much like Marrison & Hurst, Ross was only really considered for Cup games. In fact he played just twice in League Cup games. He scored an excellent goal to put the Blades past Boston in 2005 but joined the Pilgrims the following week. Ross is a central midfielder who is known for his ability to put his foot on the ball and spread it about(Something many Blades fans feel is needed now). Ross joined Rotherham on loan earlier in the season and in January made that deal permanent until the end of the season at least.

There is of course Phil Jagielka and Billy Sharp to add to this list but we all know the whereabouts of these two. Sharp back at United (and struggling) and Jagielka excelling in the Premiership. Surely the next stop is an England call up?
