Danny Wilson has praised his side following United’s 2-0 win against Brentford on Saturday. Speaking directly after the game at Bramall Lane, Wilson also had a word for the support, as he spoke to the club’s official website.
‘The players looked a little bit nervous at times” Wilson said. “The game started very well for us, the fans got behind us really well and we looked good. Although we let them back into the game towards half time, I always thought we had other gears and we stepped up in the second half.
The belief is getting better and it is getting stronger. We have to build on it, not get complacent and expect to win every game. We can have a belief in what we have done so far which is win games. It is a good start; winning your first home game is very important it gives you a really good feeling.
n the back of the second successive league shutout, Wilson also had a word for his defence.
We deserved to win the game, the full backs got forward very well in the second half and we created a number of good opportunities which we took advantage of. The back five did very well indeed, and were delighted to keep another clean sheet.
