Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has spoke of his disgust at seeing our late leveller against Middlesbrough ruled out this weekend.

Heading to the Riverside Stadium for the game, a Rudy Gestede header gave the hosts the lead on the 20th minute but we tied on possession and had one more effort on target than they did across the 90, although clearly they had far more attempts overall.

The controversial moment came late on though as a ‘very, very poor decision’ was taken by the officials to rule out a stoppage time leveller from us.

The goal was ruled out owing to the belief that Jack O’Connell was offside or more likely Chris Basham, but not only was he clearly onside, the ball actually went in as an own goal Dael Fry.

Speaking to theStar as he met with the media following the game, that moment clearly infuriated Wilder, especially as it brought our unbeaten run stretching back to Fleetwood last January to an end.

‘He started off in an offside position but moved back into an onside position and then impeded their centre-half from heading the ball. Are we going to just let their centre-half head it clear in the last minute at Middlesbrough when we’re after a result when we’ve been unbeaten for about…three years?’

He went on to say.

‘You just can’t get those decisions wrong. I’m not saying we’ve come here and dominated the game, as this is and will be a tough place to come with the players they’ve got and a new manager in place. But when we play like we did in the second half I think it was a just reward to get something from the game and that’s been taken away from us by a very, very poor decision.’

Wilder also spoke about a little plan he had for the visit of Leicester City in the League Cup later in the month, Wilder wants Bramall Lane as full as possible for the tie so he’s going to see what he can do with ticket prices.

‘I`d like to do something on the prices. I`m going to put a bit of pressure on for us to try and do that, I`m not afraid to admit. I think it`s a great game for us to look forward to and we want to have as many people on our side as possible. That`s obvious. It`s a good draw but a very tough one for us.’
