Controversial loss

I was glued to the TV watching the match yesterday evening. I was hoping for a win, but Basham`s clearance didn`t go to plan and Blackman was too far off his line to react.

I thought that Carruthers and Stevens didn`t play well. Lots of loose passes and shaky defending. Mind you there were a lot of mistakes made yesterday, not just passes that went awry but also lots of misplaced back passes.

We did seem to sit off at times as well, only towards the second half did we push Boro further, and with the introduction of Evans, Brooks and Duffy we started to show a bit more urgency. I was disappointed hearing the boos that Ched got when he took to the field from the Boro fans, not very sporting.

Sharp didn`t have too much sight of the ball as well, although he was probably kept in check by Boro`s defence. I thought Fleck had a good game though, did some decent runs and got a couple of shots off, as did Duffy when he came on. Apart from the fluffed clearance I though Basham had a good game, same as Freeman and his egg sized lump after a brave headed clearance.

There was a lot of controversy yesterday, what with the Boro free kick that resulted in their goal, especially when you see their player trip over his own heels, but also with our “disallowed” equaliser. I think that should have stood to be honest. There were a lot of decisions that never went our way, such as Boro defenders clearly pulling Clarke`s shirt at the corners.

Cardiff next for us, hopefully we can pick ourselves up and get back to the winning way on Tuesday. Still above Wednesday though, that`s what matters!! I`m nearly done at work so looking forward to getting back home and getting back to the church that is BDTBL!!

UTB!!
