Sheffield United manager has been asked to explain his comments following the game at Nottingham Forest.
The Blades boss was unhappy with the referee following the Coca-Cola Championship tie at the City Ground on Tuesday night when he sent Darius Henderson from the field as well as ‘giving the home side the majority of the decisions.’
‘The referee has a responsibility to control the game and I think he lost it.’.
‘It was a big game for both sides and then there is someone in the middle who doesn’t seem to understand it.’
‘As managers we cannot speak our minds in press conferences because we get punished by the FA for berating the officials.
‘There were a lot of decisions we didn’t get but I have to be careful what I say. The whole crowed was mystified on five or six occasions following decisions.’
‘It shouldn’t be me talking about the referee, it should be the media.’
Blackwell has now been asked to explain these comments within a week of Neil Warnock’s reprimand following the FA Cup tie with Aston Villa when he clearly felt that the goal his side conceded came from a corner that was given incorrectly.
