If you didn’t already know that Tommy Doyle has been schooled by an elite Premier League club, you could probably tell that anyway by his performances this season.

A touch of class, and awesome awareness, Tommy Doyle has demonstrated his high level of technical and tactical ability already for the Blades. Last Saturday was no different when he displayed, yet again, that his craftsmanship is of the highest order when he played an instrumental part in United’s opener.

Doyle was given a yard of space around 30 yards out from the West Bromwich Albion net, and he saw a pass that not many other midfielders in the league would see. He played a delightful over-the-top through ball which had the defence backtracking as Baldock latched onto it and set up Ndiaye for the opener.

Along with an array of passes and vision, Doyle possesses an eye for goal and he has not been afraid to take aim for the Blades. Despite not scoring for United, supporters can clearly see the shooting ability that he has from distance because he is never that far off the top corner from his long-range strikes.

Against Birmingham City Doyle struck the woodwork with a ferociously-whipped freekick from an acute angle.

Paul Heckingbottom critiqued the Manchester City youngsters performances so far:

“We have been pushing him a lot without the ball. For me he still needs to be stronger without the ball, more dominant without the ball.

“We will continue to push him because I think to have an even bigger impact, that’s the area where he can improve, and goals. We need more goals from him.” [Yorkshire Live]
