With Portsmouth’s chairman Milan Mandaric sacking yet another manager – this time Allain Perrin, Neil Warnock is once again being linked to the Premiership club.

Warnock has told the official website: ‘I’ve said enough on the matter. I will just get on with the job in hand, that being preparing for Leicester on Saturday. Enough has been said already and it would be going back over old ground.’

It was announced by Sheffield United’s chairman Kevin McCabe that the board would not look at extending Warnock’s deal until later in the season. His current contract runs out in the summer. ‘As far as we are concerned the board has a fantastic relationship with Neil and will look again at the situation later in the season, as is the norm’ adding that they have an option within the managers contract to extend the deal.

We asked if the board should offer Warnock a new deal in our poll. 38% said yes, immediately. 18% said later in the season and 45% said no.

However, no matter how little Warnock wants to talk about the position, it won’t stop the press or bookies linking him!

Warnock is favourite to take over, with George Burley, formerly of Derby County, Ipswich Town and Hearts taking second spot and ex Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane in 6th!
