Manager Nigel Clough has added his seventh signing of the summer to the club, in the shape of former Tranmere Rovers midfielder James Wallace.

The 22 year old will officially move to us on July 1st and the fee is undisclosed.

The former Tranmere captain has signed a three year deal and the England U19 and U20 player has so far made 79 appearances since coming through Everton’s Academy, scoring seven times.

Clough said of the signing.

‘James is another good young midfielder to add to our ranks, he’s had a couple of injury problems in the last twelve months but he was the driving force behind Tranmere’s fine start a couple of seasons ago. James is one of the best midfielders in the league. We are delighted to get him.’

The player did make 19 appearances last season before injury struck again back in March.
