Blades forward, Rhian Brewster, saw action earlier today for the England u21’s in a friendly against Italy. Brewster bagged an early brace to give the young Lions a 2-0 victory.

The young Lions came out of the blocks, applying constant pressure on the Italian’s back line. Eventually, they cracked and they were awarded a penalty in the 3rd minute. Rhian Brewster stepped up and calmly slotted the ball into the bottom right corner, with pace.

Shortly after, Brewster found himself on the scoresheet again when he spun in behind the Italy u21’s defence and latched onto a through ball. Keeping his composure, he poked it beyond the keeper.

On 71 minutes, Brewster was substituted and replaced by Folarin Balogun.

Another United player saw minutes in this game for the young Lions, Manchester City loanee Tommy Doyle came on in the 71st minute. James McAtee was also on the bench for England, however, he was an unused sub.

England u21’s next game is next Tuesday at Bramall Lane against Germany u21’s. Rhian Brewster, Tommy Doyle and James McAtee will be hoping to claim bragging rights over their teammate Reda Khadra, who will be representing Germany in this game.

Another Blade sees action tonight as Belgium entertain Wales. Rhys Norrington-Davies starts for Wales.
